
Australian Youth Volleyball Championships
The Australian Youth Volleyball Championships (Youth Champs / AYVC) is the premier national championship for youth volleyball athletes in the U14-U18 age groups. Queensland’s youth indoor representative volleyball teams compete annually in the Youth Champs (AYVC). Volleyball Queensland takes great pride in its success at this tournament, having defended the title since 2015.

2025 Australian Youth Volleyball Championships
Date: 21- 26 September 2025
Location: Perth, WA
Divisions: U14 (2012 and younger born) / U15 (2011 born) / U16 (2010 Born) / U17 (2009 Born) / U18 (2008 Born)
Membership: All athletes must be current, Full members of VQ at the time of competition.
Trials:
Trial 1: Saturday 17th May, 2025
Trial 2: Saturday 24th May, 2025
*Trials are set to be held at The Sports Centre, Brisbane Bicentenary Sports and Entertainment Complex and the Gap State High School. A detailed trial schedule with age group and their respective locations will be released in April.
*Athletes are expected to attend both trials. Athletes unavailable or injured at the time of trial will be able to submit an absent trialist form for consideration. Please email pathways@vq.org.au if you need this form.

Emerging Athlete Pathways
The Emerging Athlete Pathways assists young athletes in Queensland who have competed at a State or State School Championship, National or National School Championship, or International Championship. Applicants eligible for support are those who have competed at one of the aforementioned levels in the past six months. All applicants must be under the age of 18 at the start of the tournament. As of April 1st, 2022 some slight changes have been made to the funding amounts:
• $500 for state or state school events (previously $200)
• $600 for national or national school events (previously $400)
• $800 for international events (previously $600)
Local Sporting Champions
The Local Sporting Champions program is an Australian Government initiative designed to provide financial assistance for young people aged 12-18 towards the cost of travel, accommodation, uniforms, or equipment when competing, coaching, or officiating at an official National Sporting Organisation-endorsed state, national, or international sporting championships or a School Sport Australia state or national championships. If successful, applicants will receive $500-$750 towards the cost of attending their championships.
Sports Excellence Scholarship Fund
The Sports Excellence Scholarship Fund is a registered charity that supports young athletes aged 10 to 18 years old, whose financial circumstances would preclude them from otherwise participating at representative level for their state or Australia due to financial hardship. A $1,000 per scholarship will be awarded to each successful applicant.
