Volleyball Queensland will officially turn 50 years old next year on 14 July 2019. To celebrate our Golden Jubilee, Volleyball Queensland (VQ) is calling for Expressions of Interest (EOI) from all interested parties in the volleyball community to help shape the celebrations to mark VQ‘s 50th Anniversary.

Volleyball Nations League (VNL), the new FIVB tournament, is bringing its excitement to Melbourne from 22-24 June 2018 and will feature 16 of the world’s best indoor volleyball teams.

Volleyball Queensland (VQ) is calling for Expressions of Interest (EOI) from members of the volleyball community who would like to help shape the future direction of school volleyball opportunities in Queensland.

Staff Changes at VQ

This month Volleyball Queensland will experience a couple of staffing changes. After four years, at the end of this month, our Administration Officer, Tori, is leaving VQ for the excitement of London. Todd, who has filled in as Events Coordinator during Damien Searle’s secondment to GOLDOC for the Commonwealth Games, is also leaving the VQ office to pursue new career opportunities.

ISC Wrap Up

Intermediate Schools Cup (ISC) was held in Toowoomba over the weekend. This year, ISC welcomed 64 schools with approximately 1,300 athletes who competed across 15 divisions at seven venues.

Welcome to Volleyball Queensland’s new and refreshed website. The updated website includes: streamlined navigation, mobile compatibility, find-a-club function, and a feature home page promoting upcoming events and exciting volleyball news.

AJBVC in Bunbury, Western Australia

The 2018 Australian Junior Beach Volleyball Championships were held during April in Bunbury, Western Australia, where the Queensland teams continued Volleyball Queensland’s legacy, claiming the Andy Burdin Shield for the sixth consecutive year.

2018 Commonwealth Games

As beach volleyball made its debut at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, Volleyball Queensland’s members, staff, and affiliates were keen to experience the action on home soil.

Regional Development Camps

In March this year, Volleyball Queensland held its first Regional Development Camp. Travelling to Proserpine, this camp focused on developing the skills of officials and athletes alike, hosting an officiating course and a Junior Pirates Camp.

QBVT Review

The QLD Championships, Round 12 of the Queensland Beach Volleyball Tour, was held on 10-11 March 2018. Promoted by Volleyball in Paradise, this event was held at the iconic Surfer’s Paradise beach.
