Volleyball QLD has a strong history at the Australian Junior Beach Volleyball Championships, and this year’s event was no exception. Claiming the Andy Burdin Shield for the fifth consecutive year, the QLD athletes and coaches brought their A-game to the beach.
Held in Bunbury, Western Australia, this year, Volleyball QLD sent a total of 25 teams across five age groups – U15, U16, U17, U18, and U19.
Impressively, QLD placed first in the U15G, U17G, U18G, U16B, U17B, and U18B divisions; second in U15G, U17B, U18B, and U19B; and third in the U15G, U17G, and U16B.
Events Manager, Damian Searle, commented on QLD’s success saying, “our continued success at AJBVC is a testament to the talent that QLD produces”. He continued, “the dedication shown by our athletes and coaches in the lead up to, and during the competition went above and beyond our expectations and their efforts were rewarded with fantastic results”.
Congratulations to all of the athletes and coaches on their success, and to Volleyball WA for hosting a great tournament.
