Next month, the Australian Junior Beach Volleyball Championships (AJBVC) will take place at Coolangatta beach in our home state of Queensland.
Volleyball Queensland has a strong legacy at AJBVC, defending the title consecutively since 2015, and with our athletes, coaches, and parents showing incredible dedication throughout the selection and training process, the 2020 squad is sure to impress.
Competing across each of the five divisions, U14, U15, U16, U17, and U18, Volleyball Queensland is proud to announce its selected athletes, including all approved wildcards, who will compete in the tournament from 15 – 18 March 2020.
Damien Searle, Events Manager at Volleyball Queensland said:
“We are incredibly excited to announce our teams for the upcoming AJBVC and can’t wait to see what they bring to the competition on home sand next month.
“Our athletes, parents, coaches and support staff have all worked tirelessly in the lead up to selections and it’s safe to say the size of our contingent is reflective of the efforts, strong performance and continued growth of our junior beach volleyball programs in Queensland.”
Another indication that our junior beach volleyball program continues to go from strength to strength is the successful track record of our athletes going on to represent Australia.
This follows Volleyball Australia’s recent announcement of the teams for the upcoming Asian U19 Beach Volleyball Championships in Phuket, Thailand, in March, which includes Queenslanders Ben Booth, Sam Flowerday, Alisha Stevens, Jasmine Fleming, Kayla Mears, and Annelies Jones (reserve) amongst those selected.
Congratulations to all athletes selected for both AJBVC and the Asian U19 Beach Volleyball Championships. We can’t wait to cheer you on!
