Intermediate Schools Cup (ISC) was held in Toowoomba over the weekend.
This year, ISC welcomed 64 schools with approximately 1,300 athletes who competed across 15 divisions at seven venues.
The first secondary schools cup event for 2018, ISC achieved record entries with 163 teams, further solidifying volleyball as a growing sport in Queensland schools.
Todd Kropp, VQ’s Events Coordinator, was thrilled with the number of entries received and was impressed by the level of competition displayed over the weekend. “Our Schools Cup tournaments have shown consistent growth over the past few years, demonstrating a strong interest in volleyball at a school level. We are thrilled with this growth and enjoy providing the opportunities for these athletes to practice their volleyball skills in a safe, competitive environment.”
Volleyball Queensland would like to congratulate all athletes and staff who participated in ISC, with special mention to Craigslea State High School for earning the title of Overall Intermediate Schools Cup Champions.
Visit the ISC page for the full 2018 results.
Volleyball Queensland would also like to extend its thanks to Toowoomba Volleyball Association who again co-hosted this event and provided invaluable support.
The next Schools Cup event, Senior Schools Cup (SSC), takes place in August. Check the SSC page for further information.
