Grand Prix Volleyball (GPV) brings a new competition format to Queensland. Typically, each team plays 9-12 matches across three weekend rounds spread 3-4 weeks apart. It allows clubs and teams to plan an alternative indoor volleyball season around a series of weekend tournaments. This year's GPV competition returns to the same three SEQ regional centres - Darling Downs, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast - but with a new competition venue for Round 3.

Round 1
Dates: 09-10 June 2018
Venue: Downlands College, Toowoomba (72 Ruthven St, Harlaxton QLD 4350)
Times: 10am-10pm Saturday and 9am-5pm Sunday

Round 2
Dates: 30 June - 01 July 2018
Venue: Gold Coast Sports & Leisure Centre, Carrara (296 Nerang-Broadbeach Rd, Carrara QLD 4211)
Times: 10am-10pm Saturday and 9am-5pm Sunday

Round 3

Venue: Matthew Flinders Anglican College, Buderim (1-47 Stringybark Rd, Buderim QLD 4556)

The format is semi-regular rounds played over a weekend with each team playing multiple games per round.

  • Each team plays 3-4 matches per round
  • All matches are Best-of-Five-Sets format with no time limit
  • All matches from all rounds go towards an aggregate league table
  • There are no finals in GPV, which is intended to mirror the EPL format
