Record Breaking Beach Volleyball Season

Record Breaking Beach Volleyball Season Concludes Ahead of the Summer of the Commonwealth Games

On the even of Summer 2017/18 and Beach Volleyball's debut at the GC2018 Commonwealth Games we look back on the impressive stats and achievements of the 2016/17 Beach Volleyball season.

In a summer that started with the Rio 2016 Olympics, and concluded with the 2017 Youth Olympics Queensland Beach Volleyballers have excelled: junior participation numbers have exploded and junior elite players dominated, senior players produce stellar performances, coaches make Olympic history, and referees take their place in the history books.

We look forward to an even bigger 2017/18 season (commencing 02 September on the Gold Coast) that will culminate in Beach Volleyball's debut at the Commonwealth Games on the sands of the Gold Coast. Over the summer, the country's best athletes compete for selection to represent their country. Similarly, foreign teams will take up opportunities to acclimatize to Queensland's world-famous beaches, weather, and lifestyle by competing on the Queensland Beach Volleyball Tour.
